Sundararaja Perumal Temple, Thirumanam
Sundararaja Perumal Temple, Thirumanam. This temple is situated in Thirumanam Village in Tiruvalluvar district. The temple was built in 13th century by Pandya king Jatavarma Sundara Pandian. It was later developedby Vijayanagara and Nayaka kings. The Rajagopuram is a five tiered structure facing East. The Dwajasthambam, Balipeedam and Garudalwar Sannidhi inside faces the sanctum sanctorum. Inside the sanctum the Utsavamoorthy and Sudarsana Chakram are found. This place is also called Siddar Kadu since in the good olden days many Siddars lived here. It is a Nakshatra temple for those with Swathi Star. The presiding deity is Sundararaja Perumal with Sundaravalli Thayar. Garuda Sevai is celebrated on Ratha Sapthami day.
