KOMALEESWARAR TEMPLE, KOMALEESWARANPET




  Komaleeswarar Temple, Pudupet. This more than 350 year old temple is situated off Harris Road. The presiding deity is Lord Komaleeswarar and Ambal is called Komalambigai. The temple has beautiful Rajagopuram and there are shrines for Brahma, Vishnu, Dakshinamoorthy and Durgai as in any other sivan temple. A separate shrine is there for Navagraha.  There is an inscription dated 1816 AD on the walls of the temple mentioning about the Kaingaryam of one Kuppammal wife of Baba Sah a silk merchant of Triplicane. Vallal Pachaiyappa Mudaliar who lived  here used to bathe in Cooum daily and visit the temple.  Cooum must have been clean in those days.  A nearby street is named after him.

       This temple on New Pusa Road, Karol Bagh, Delhi is a temple dedicated to Lakshmi Nrisimha and belongs to Ahobila Mutt.  The Lakshmi Nrisimha Sabha was established in Delhi in 1970 at Defence Colony and registered in 1975. A plot of land was acquired in 1982 on New Pusa road and the main sanctum was constructed sometime later. In the year 1997 the temple came under the jurisdiction of Ahobila Mutt and the 45th Jeeyar also visited the temple.  Extensive renovation  additions were made including Raja Gopuram and Samprokshanam was held in 2013.  The main deity Lakshmi Nrisimha is facing East.      Thirukachi Nambi Varadaraja Perumal Temple,  Poonamalle.       This temple is situated at Poonamalle 23 kms away from  Madras and is more than a 1000 year old temple and believed to have been built during the period of  Paranthaka Chola in 10th century.  Thirukachi Nambi was a great Acharya of Vaishnavite tradition  and was the  Guru of Ramanuja. He was born  in 1009 AD at Poonamalle  to Viraraghava  and Kamalamba in an orthodox  Vaishya family. He was named  Gajendra  Dasar and from  his  childhood  he was an ardent  devotee of Varadaraja  Perumal at Kanchipuram. Kandy Kathirkamam Temple

    This temple called Kandy  Kathirkamam  Temple  is situated in the UNESCO   heritage city of Kandy. The moolavar in the  form of Balamurugan  is always kept  behind  a screen of Murugan on peacock and it is open only once in a year  on Vaikasi  Visakham  day. The  temple has a beautiful elephant  and is visited by both  Tamil Hindus and Sinhala  Buddhists. There is a shrine for  Buddha at the  back of  the  Murugan  shrine and is worshipped by all.
